oooo there's nothing like a newborn. every single little bitty part makes my heart skip a beat. the older annie gets the more distance comes between her newborn self and her pre-k self. i miss that baby.

i first met erin and duncan last year after they were married. we had a great time getting to know each other during an ever after session and continued to keep in touch. i was thrilled when i heard the news they were expecting their first baby. always such a wonderful time in life. again, i had the pleasure of documenting them as they waited for the arrival of their little one - not knowing whether they were having a boy or a girl. they wanted the surprise. and surprise it was. master kellan august was born on 4 august. i adore his name, really wonderful and i adore him - he's precious. we got together on a rainy sunday to photograph this sweetness.

what more is there to say. i love bailley. annie is in awe of bailley. bailley has got it going on. she's 9. she's fabulous. she's sweet. she's a girls girl.

the best part of shooting an engagement session is meeting the bride and groom for the very first time. if i've made them laugh and feel comfortable in front of my lens then i've done my job. it helps to get that comfort level before their wedding day. mara and aaron were a pleasure to shoot because they allowed me to do my thing. they didn't laugh when i climbed on my ladder or got down flat on my belly or made them walk through fields with chirping crickets - they didn't shake their heads or say no - [or at least i didn't see them!] now i wish i did ask them to balance those plates on their heads! the sun wasn't shining but it didn't really matter.

olivia has turned 14! and to celebrate she invited her friends for a backyard safari. this delightful party stylized by jasmine macdonald of seaside soirees and pipsqueak parties- [newburyport, ma.] featured everything from safari straw hats to tiki lamps, giraffes and zebras, a safari hunt and the best cupcake display ever. happy birthday olivia!!
